The vineyards that our winemakers work with passion, respect and technical mastery are the birthplace of Domìni Veneti wines. They are located in the fertile womb of the gentle hills of the Valpolicella Classica area.
The hamlet of Jago on the hill of Negrar has always been considered one of the most suitable parts of the Valpolicella Classica area for its pedo-climatic environment. The landscape is typical of Valpolicella with dry terraces, in this case with southeast exposure, at an altitude of about 250 metres above sea level. The type of soil is varied: sometimes clayey, sometimes limestone, or on alluvial debris. This microarea is perfectly suited for the Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grape varieties, which are destined for the production of the most important Amarone of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar: Vigneti di Jago, which stands out not only for the integrity of its oenological production, but also for the sharpness of its perfumes and calibrated drying.
Like few others, this micro-area is synonymous with a vocation for great wines, in this case particularly for Recioto. The soil’s characteristics are similar to those of Jago, as Moron is on the same ridge, just slightly south.
These vineyards are located higher up in the hills, between 300 and 420 metres above sea level. They have mostly southeast exposure, and various types of soil above Eocene marl.
The vineyards are located along the entire eastern side of the Negrar valley, at a height of between 230 and 270 metres above sea level, with exposure to the west. It has various types of soil, mostly clay and sections of limestone. The particular and favourable pedo-climatic condition of these vineyards allows for the optimal ripening of grapes suitable for the production of great red wines.
